Call for Art at Priceless!

The Priceless art funding committee is now accepting submissions for art installations at Priceless 2010. Submit your completed questionnaire to: art.priceless@false-profit.com

Art pieces that are site-specific and interactive are highly encouraged! Projects should enrich and relate to the environment at Belden (perhaps even to a particular location within Belden Town) and be interactive with both its environment and with the attendees of Priceless. We are excited to present art that beautifies and engages, astonishes and surprises, thrills and enlightens!

Projects that do not require any funding are welcome ~ we still need your questionnaire! The average grant amount ranges between $50 and $250, with occasional exceptions for larger project needs.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 23rd. You will be notified of whether your project has been accepted and if it has been awarded a grant on Friday, April 30th. Then you’ll have the month of May to get everything else done — Priceless 2010 is Friday, July 2 through Monday, July 5.

Art Questionnaire

1. Overview: a brief description of the project. How big? What materials? What does it do?

• Interactivity
• Where in Belden Town would you ideally like to see your art placed? (a specific site or a general area/environment)
• Drawings, blueprints, photos, visual aide, etc
• Leave no trace

2. Is the project related to False Profit, Priceless or this year’s Burning Man theme? If yes, how so?

3. The Budget

• Please provide a detailed itemized budget.
• Do you need funds at specific intervals? Please suggest a schedule of dispersement of fund
• If you receive only partial funding, will you be able to do the project? What is the minimum funding that you need?

4. Is your project already built? If yes, you may skip questions 5 & 6.

5. Creating art projects together builds community

• What community support do you need?
• How many people?
• Who specifically is or will be working on the project?

6. Schedule of Construction

• What is your timeline for completion of the project?
• What will you be able to showcase at Priceless?
• Will you be bringing your art to other events? If so, which ones (Burning Man, etc.)?

7. Sustainability

• Please briefly discuss your Leave No Trace plan for Priceless.
• What are your plans for showing your art in the future?
• Would you be interested in bringing your art to future false profit events?

8. Transportation

• What are the transport requirements?
• Can you be responsible for transportation of the project to Belden?
