False Profit Featured by New Langton Arts

New Langton Arts is an experimental media artist space that’s been showing work for 30 years in San Francisco.

False Profit, LLC is happy to announce the selection of our work for the May packet exhibition at New Langton Arts. Net Art Curator Richard Rinehart explains,

“On the Internet, data such as emails, web pages, and images sent across the network are broken down into smaller units called packets. These packets splinter off to take different routes, flying across the network to their destination. They end their brief lives as individual units when they reassemble back into the email or image one finally views. Packets are thus dynamic, small, ephemeral, and largely invisible, yet critical to the functioning of the system.

Playfully named for these `worker elves` of the networked world, the packet exhibition program showcases young artists who may not have exhibited before – sometimes students or artists new to the medium who may not have developed enough work yet for a full-fledged show. The program is also intended to be clear of interpretive overhead and to highlight new works at the relatively quick exhibition pace of one every month.”
